• Sydney Cancer Centre Continence Clinic

    Many people experience bladder and bowel problems following treatment for gynaecological, prostate and bowel cancer.

    A free Continence Clinic is available to all Sydney Cancer Centre patients at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Services provided include: assessment, management and application for continence product subsidies.

    You have a bladder or bowel control problem if you answer is “yes” to the following:

    • Do you sometimes feel that you have not completely emptied your bladder?
    • Do you have to rush to use the toilet?
    • Are you frequently nervous because you think you might lose control of your bladder or bowel?
    • Do you leak before you get to the toilet?
    • Do you sometimes soil your underwear?
    • Do you plan your daily routine around where the nearest toilet is?
    • Do you leak when you laugh, cough or sneeze?
    • Do you leak when you change from a seated or lying position to a standing position?
