Johnny Warren Jamberoo Classic 3rd January 2010
Despite overcast conditions at the start and the threat of rain more than 430 riders lined up in the southern Sydney suburb of Loftus for the 100 kilometre journey to Jamberoo, the former home of ex-Socceroos captain Johnny Warren, whom the charity ride is named in his honour. view more photos
Some of the highlights include crossing the Sea Cliff bridge and the stop at Stuart Park in Wollongong before riders make their way down to Jamberoo Valley for the finish at the historic Jamberoo Pub where a BBQ lunch and celebrations await.
A total of $14,280.00 was raised this year. Special thanks to Craig Klements, Jamberoo Pub, The Warren Family, Mike Tomalaris (SBS), volunteers and to all riders and their families.
Ceremonial Sod Turning 22nd December 2009
A significant milestone in the journey of Lifehouse - the vision of Prof. Chris O’Brien who saw how integrated cancer centres around the world were revolutionizing the treatment of this disease.
“With the collaboration of so many supporters, including the NSW Government, medical professionals, cancer patients and advocacy groups, and the Lifehouse Board of Directors, we have come so far in making this a reality.”
Site preparation will begin early in the new year, with construction expected to start in late 2010. view photos of the ceremonial sod turning
